Day one: getting to know Goderdzi

Your journey begins with a small but exciting adventure. In the morning, you will ski in the forest near the resort. There are no crowds and fuss here - just you and nature. This is the time to get used to the new snow and test your technique.

After a day of skiing, we will gather for avalanche safety training. Don't worry, this is not a boring lecture. You will learn how to search for a victim using a beeper, try yourself in the role of a rescuer and understand how to act in emergency situations. Day two: deep forest and sauna

Waking up in the morning, you will feel the thick forest of Goderdzi beckoning you. We will start the day from the pass, from where amazing views open up. The descents here are breathtaking: the snow is soft, the forest around is fabulous, and the tracks seem to be drawn especially for you.

The plans for the day include three full descents. Each of them will give you new sensations: either a smooth movement across wide fields, or a rapid descent through the forest. Day Three: Wide Fields and New Horizons

The final day of the tour promises to be no less exciting. The climb by snowcat or on foot (whichever is more convenient) will take us to the pass. From there, a series of exciting descents begins. We will head towards the village, where the widest snow fields will open up before you. About four descents are planned for this day. Each of them is unique, but they have one thing in common - an amazing feeling of freedom that only Freeride in Georgia.

What is special about the snow in Goderdzi?

The snow here is like alive - soft, warm and fluffy. During snowfalls, the temperature stays around zero, which is why the snow is slightly damp. Such "warm" snow falls perfectly, creating an even layer that simply beckons you to try the fresh virgin soil.

But there is a nuance: the fluff in the forest lasts only a day or two after a snowfall. Then it becomes slightly denser, but still remains loose and soft, especially where there is no wind. But in open fields and passes, the snow can become a little harder, because the wind penetrates it.

Wind and weather

In winter, everything depends on the winds in Goderdzi. Northern winds bring cold and bright sun. Southern winds bring warmth and long-awaited snowfalls. This balance makes the resort especially attractive for freeriders.

Unlike Krasnaya Polyana, there are significantly fewer people here, and the lower cable car station is located higher. There is no need to get up at 7 am to catch fresh snow. The powder awaits you under the sparkling sun rays, as if created especially for your first descent.

For those who love ski touring and splitboarding

If you are not afraid of long routes and gentle slopes, you will definitely need ski touring equipment. Skins in a backpack - and the whole of Goderdzi is at your feet! And you do not have to buy anything, as you can rent ski equipment at PVD Club.

One of the most beautiful directions is the western ridge. Imagine: luxurious hills, fluffy forest ravines and shimmering snow slopes. Ski tourers can ride with the wind, choosing the sweetest lines, and roll out right to the road, just below the Goderdzi glade.

On the other side of the lifts there is also plenty to do. The ridge pleases with a variety of relief, and the round couloirs seem to beckon to conquer them. Moreover, every day you can choose a new route - the lines here are almost never repeated.

What about the descents towards Raketi?

If you are looking for something more extreme, head towards Raketi. There you will find interesting reliefs and soft snow couloirs. But remember, this side is often windward, and to start the descent you will have to lose some altitude to find more comfortable snow. The climb back will take from an hour to three, but it is worth it. Each descent is a new story, a new challenge and new emotions.
