Freeride programs
Our freeride programs will take you off-piste on the best routes along the Gudauri mountains, such as Kudebi, Kobi and Sadzele. Also, if you wish, you can plunge into the world of ski touring in Gudauri and take the route towards Mount Deda Ena. In order to be able to ski off-piste, you need at least confident skiing on pistes and the availability of avalanche equipment: beeper, probe, shovel.

Goderdzi: Wildlife
If you want to visit places where the snow is still untouched, go to Goderdzi. This resort is made for those who seek solitude. There are fewer tourists here, but more freedom.
The routes in Goderdzi run through wild slopes, where each descent is a challenge and a pleasure. And the evenings are spent in cozy houses with Georgian wine and incredible stories about conquered peaks.

Best routes of Gudauri
We offer you unique routes through the most exciting places. But to ski off-piste, you need to be confident in on-piste skiing. Avalanche equipment is also mandatory: beeper, probe and shovel. Safety is above all.
The quality of snow in Gudauri depends on many factors. At this time, skiing becomes a real pleasure - the ease of descent and softness of the snow are mesmerizing.
In spring, it is better to choose northern slopes at an altitude of 2700 meters and above. The southern sections begin to warm up, and stones may appear on the slopes. In April, it is sometimes better to walk down the lower lines of the lifts or use the cable car to save equipment.
As for the total amount of snow, every year is different. For example, in the 2015-2016 season, up to 7 meters fell, and in the following season - almost half as much. Heavy snowfalls are typical, bringing a meter to one and a half of snow at a time. But the weather can be capricious - sometimes the wind blows everything away, and sometimes snowfalls follow one after another, closing the cable cars for clearing.
Freeride areas from the lifts
In Gudauri, all the space between the pistes is available for skiing. The slopes along the second line of lifts and gondolas are ideal for freeride beginners. These are wide fields with gentle slopes where you can safely learn the basics of off-piste skiing.
Here you will learn how much deep snow slows down and how important it is to choose the right trajectory to avoid getting stuck in a snowdrift. You will learn how to get up after falling, how to carefully approach boulders for jumps. And most importantly, you will feel the freedom that freeriding gives. For beginners, these zones are the perfect start. But if you want more, get ready for real challenges.
Freeride routes
Kudebi is an ideal option for those who have already mastered the basics of freeriding and are ready for new heights. The third stage of the chairlift leads here. After snowfalls, it is opened first, as soon as the sun comes out from behind the clouds. The slopes here are fun and "fun", especially along the edges of the tracks. But the eastern and northern sides require special caution due to the avalanche danger.
Sadzele is a choice for experienced skiers. After a heavy snowfall, it is not opened immediately, but a couple of days later, when rescuers check the slopes. Here, the slopes reach 30-35 degrees, and the black trails speak for themselves.
Off-piste descents towards the resort require confident technique and attention. Avalanches are not uncommon on steep sections, so skiing here is for those who know what they are doing.
