Gudauri weather: when is the best time to go?
Ski and snowboard enthusiasts flock to Tbilisi Gudauri from the second half of December through May. It's difficult to pinpoint a time when powder conditions will be perfect, especially due to the changing climate. However, experienced riders swear by it: compared to, say, Krasnaya Polyana, finding favorable weather here is much easier.
February is the busiest month in Gudauri , and it's considered the best time for skiing.
The beginning of December, the end of January, March is the period when you can save. There is a seasonal outflow of tourists, due to which you can get a pleasant price for accommodation and services.

Gudauri - the road to the resort
The Gudauri ski resort has fairly convenient transportation access. Most tourists reach it by plane from Tbilisi.
The flight from Moscow to Georgia's capital takes just over three hours. From Tbilisi, you can travel to Gudauri by bus or taxi. A surcharge applies for oversized luggage on the bus. The journey from the capital to the resort takes approximately two hours. For a comfortable transfer, we offer a transfer service from Tbilisi to Gudauri.
To save money, you can go via Vladikavkaz or Beslan. From there, you can take a private carrier to Gudauri. It is quite difficult to predict the exact time it will take with this option, because you will be crossing the border.
And, speaking of time, be especially careful when leaving, especially if you are leaving on Sunday. There are quite a lot of tourists coming to relax for the weekend, so on Sundays there are decent traffic jams on the roads: leave early.

The entire territory of Georgian Gudauri can be divided into 3 zones: upper, lower and new.
The upper Gudauri area has hotels and hostels, it is loved by freeriders, because it is here that the Shino lift is located, you can get to the mountain among the first.
Lower Gudauri is the most comfortable, in addition to places to stay, there are restaurants and recreation areas. This area is located near the main road.
New Gudauri is a developing area. There are apartments, shops, cafes…
Additionally, some tourists stay in nearby villages located slightly downstream from Gudauri. Accommodation there is slightly cheaper than in Gudauri.
