Peak winter season: weather in Gudauri for January – March

The most stable and snowiest time of year. Average daytime temperatures range from -3 to -7°C, making them comfortable for extended skiing. Every 7 to 14 days, a snow front sweeps in from the south, bringing 50 cm to 2 meters of fresh snow. Between fronts, clear, sunny weather typically prevails.

February is considered the coldest and snowiest month. It's in February that the snow cover is thickest, and the avalanche risk is minimal compared to other regions of Georgia, making Gudauri a prime freeriding destination.

During these months, unexpected spring snowfalls are common, and the third day can be the snowiest and most memorable.
