SCHEDULE OF THE AUTHOR'S TOUR ON THE LYCIAN TRAIL

DAY 1

Gathering of participants in Antalya. We leave by comfortable transfer towards Kemer. Along the way, we stop at a large hypermarket for shopping; if the participants wish, we stop at a sports hypermarket. Transfer to Geykbairi, overnight at the campsite. Dinner, Evening briefing, discussion of plans and routes.

DAY 2

Breakfast, we set out on the route. Trekking along the Lycian Way towards the village of Sitbidi, approaching the Sivri hill. Radial exit, in the evening we return to the campsite

DAY 3

Transfer to the village of Tekirova. Access to Mount Takhtali. Radial exit with a climb to the highest elevation, Mount Takhtali. The option of lifting using a cable car is possible. We will look at the Martian landscape, see the sea from above and begin our descent back to the starting point. At the top you can cheer up with a cup of coffee and ice cream in the cafe.

DAY 4

After a hearty breakfast, we will head to the picturesque resort of Oludeniz. Here we will have a few hours to stroll along the cozy streets and swim in the crystal clear turquoise sea. After rest, we will be transferred to Mount Babadag (1700 m), where our second day trek will begin.

We will climb to the top of the mountain (1960 m), from where there are stunning panoramas of sea bays, neighboring mountain ranges and the endless coastline, which is especially picturesque in this part of the Lycian Way. In clear weather you can even see the Greek island of Rhodes, which seems very close.

DAY 5

Today we have a day of easy descents and a juicy orange mood 😊. After yesterday's climbs, we will be able to give our legs a rest - the route will go mainly down. Along the way, we will encounter traces of ancient Lycia for the first time, and if we are lucky, a large number of land turtles.

We'll make a stop with a view of the sea: here you can enjoy freshly squeezed orange juice, as well as communicate with curious domestic animals that like to look in on travelers.

The end of our day is the turquoise bay and the village of Kabak. Here we will stop at a cozy campsite with hammocks, a hot shower and a large fire, where we will spend the evening in a friendly atmosphere, admiring the sunset on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

Kabak is a village for true lovers of freedom. Its spirit is reminiscent of the hippie 60s: the aroma of herbs and incense hovers here, and a special Turkish harmony reigns. The lower part of the village lives a bright and noisy life in campsites, and the upper part offers peace and privacy. Nearby is Paradise Bay with a beach, which can be reached by footpath or by boat.

DAY 6

Having gained strength, we continue our journey along the Lycian Way. As we climb higher and higher, impressive panoramas will open up before our eyes: majestic mountains, steep cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea shimmering in the sun.

Gradually, the coastal views will give way to landscapes reminiscent of Greece: picturesque olive groves, ancient stone paths, mountain goats on the slopes, golden fields of wheat and the remains of ancient settlements.

After passing through the villages of Alinka and Yediburinlar, we will set up camp at an altitude of about 900 m above sea level. Here we will have dinner with a stunning view, heartfelt evening conversations and warming tea under the starry sky.

DAY 7

Today we are heading to the famous Patara Beach, one of the most beautiful in the world. Its 12-kilometer sandy line with dunes going into the sea amazes with its scale and gives a feeling of infinity. Despite its popularity, it is easy to find privacy here - or, on the contrary, enjoy a noisy company without disturbing anyone.

Along the way we will pass through the ancient fort of Pydnai, which in the 2nd century AD protected the great city of Xanthos and was mentioned by Ptolemy himself.

Patara is also known as the birthplace of St. Nicholas.
