One day tour to Truso Valley
The Truso Valley, or the "Narzan Gorge," is one of the most picturesque valleys in the Caucasus. It stretches along the Terek River, and today we're heading there on a day hike . Everyone is looking forward to seeing Martian landscapes and geysers, photogenic alpine meadows, and, of course, mountain peaks. One of the guests jokes about trying the mineral water from every spring. We know that's unrealistic, as there are about 60 along the entire route.

We get there quickly from Tbilisi, have a light snack before the start and start our route. The road is really picturesque. Numerous waterfalls flowing into the river through the rocks are already beautiful, and this is only the beginning of the journey! If we are lucky, we will see flocks of sheep on the emerald slopes.
And here are the first mineral springs; it all looks a little otherworldly. Orange-red spots (these springs are rich in iron) and white, lacy travertines several meters wide (rich in calcium) are scattered across the slope.
It seems that there are practically no villages or people in this area. Everything is so silent and peaceful. The valley was once densely populated, at the beginning of the 20th century many Ossetian families lived here. But now there are literally a few families left in Truso. You can meet Georgian shepherds living in tents - they are sincerely happy to see tourists, because their main entertainment is herding cattle.
In addition to natural beauty, the valley has several defensive towers and churches built in different eras. But mostly there are abandoned villages and ruins of Ossetian cemeteries. Surely this would make for spectacular shots for some mystical film.
We reach one of the gorge's main attractions—the bottomless lake. The clear, blue-green water, rich in iron and with bubbles on the surface, looks quite unusual. Yes, you can drink the water from the lake. But swimming is strictly prohibited.
We stop for lunch with a panoramic view.
Next on the route is the dilapidated 14th-century Zakagori Fortress. It looks epic and majestic against the backdrop of emerald mountains. The fortress will be our final destination. We all return to the transfer, tired but full of emotion.
