Detailed program of Kazbek tour

The program is the same for all trips and lasts exactly seven days. Every step is carefully planned to ensure safety is always accompanied by a true adventure. From the valley to the summit and back – with complete immersion and care for each participant.

Day 1. The morning begins with a comfortable departure from Tbilisi by minibus at precisely 8:00 a.m. A three-hour journey along the scenic Georgian Military Highway includes stops for photos at the most beautiful spots. Arrival in the village of Kazbegi , a short rest at the famous Gergeti Church, and a hike to the Altikhat hut at an altitude of 3000 meters, which takes about four hours. In the evening, the group enjoys dinner by the campfire with hot tea and local dishes, the initial gear, and a detailed acclimatization briefing. A night in tents under the starry skies of the Caucasus sets the perfect rhythm for the entire ascent of Kazbek.

Day 2. A seven-am breakfast of oatmeal and fresh fruit provides the necessary energy. The ascent to the Gergeti Glacier moraine and then the glacier crossing takes five to six hours. This is where true mountaineering skills begin: a guide leads training in walking roped, using crampons, and using an ice axe. Lunch is served en route, consisting of nutritious packed lunches. In the evening, we arrive at the weather station at 3650 meters, set up camp, and enjoy hot soup to recuperate. The second night is entirely devoted to adapting the body to the thin air.

Day 3. An early rise at 6:00 AM and a light breakfast with energy bars. The acclimatization hike to 4200 meters takes four hours. The group practices breathing techniques and navigating through snowfields. Lunch at altitude with thermoses of tea and sandwiches, followed by a slow descent back to camp. In the evening, a thorough check of all gear, a route review, and assignments for the main day. Dinner is high in protein, and bedtime comes early to conserve energy.

Day 4. The culmination of the Kazbek tour is the nighttime summit push. We set out at two or three in the morning with headlamps and full gear. The climb through snowfields and rocks takes six to eight hours. The guide carefully monitors the group's pace to avoid overexertion. The final section requires rope work on steep slopes. Watching the sunrise at 5054 meters offers unforgettable views and a feeling worth the entire trek. A short rest with photos and tea from a thermos, followed by a gentle descent to camp, which takes five to seven hours. The overall route lasts twelve to fifteen hours, but is completed before dark.

Day 5. After a challenging summit push, a late breakfast at camp. Packing up the tents and descending into the valley takes four to five hours along a familiar trail. Transfer to the village of Stepantsminda, where we check into a cozy guesthouse with hot showers and soft beds. A foot massage, restorative treatments, and a festive dinner with Georgian wine and shashlik are included. The evening is free for exploring and sharing experiences.

Days 6–7. Reserve days allow flexibility. If the weather permits an earlier summit push, the group heads to the picturesque Sno or Truso valleys—to waterfalls, mineral springs, ancient towers, and sulfur lakes. A picnic in the countryside and lunch with locals featuring khachapuri and fresh-baked bread. In the evening, return to Stepantsminda, and the next day, a comfortable transfer to Tbilisi with stops for souvenir shopping. Farewell to the group and guide leaves only warm memories.
